If you look on the back, there is a knob. In the up position, the mouth is closed. In the down position, the mouth is open. The mouth will move on its own depending on how you hold it. I was unaware of this until now. There was nothing that stated about this and most people will not turn it upside down. But if you do, the mouth opens. Or you can move the knob.
