1839-1843 Braided Hair Large Cent Penny- Unique Damage

I am selling a braided hair Large Cent minted sometime between 1839-1843 (even though the front of the coin is worn smooth, the small lettering on the reverse was only found on large cents that were struck those years, allowing us to narrow down the possible dates. The coin pictured is the exact coin you will receive. This coin has unique/interesting damage, with both sides smoothed down with round scratches and a small circle on the center of the reverse. I'm not sure exactly what this coin was used for, but it certainly has an interesting past.
